SAY SOMETHING – NEW INCIDENT REPORTING SYSTEM
CUSD is replacing “text-a-tip” and moving to a new anonymous reporting system called “Say Something Anonymous Reporting System” (SS-ARS). This program teaches students, teachers, and administrators how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially within social media, of individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and Say Something to a trusted adult OR use its anonymous reporting system. Specifically, the program educates participants to:
- Recognize the signs and signals of at-risk behaviors – especially within social media
- Take every sign and signal seriously; act quickly to get help by talking to a trusted adult OR
- 3 ways to report it anonymously: through a call to the SS-ARS 24/7 Crisis Center, mobile app, or website
- Respond to and manage the submitted tip via a multi-disciplinary educator and administrator teams
- Sustain the curriculum and awareness via student clubs, in-school activities and call-to-action weeks
We will be training our students on the system this week with a video orientation during H.E.R.O. hour. During that time, we will be helping students to download the mobile app and put the phone number into their contacts so that they will have easy access to the reporting system. If they do not have their phones with them, they can do that at home with you. If your son/daughter does not have a phone that has apps, he/she can always use a computer to make a report on the website or call the number. Information will be posted on our website next week.
Please let us know if you have any questions.

MESA CENTER
Late Start Wednesdays
Parents: We have recently had reports from the merchants at the Mesa Center, as well as from community members, that LFMS students are hanging out before school on Wednesdays and leaving trash, congregating in large groups, and in one case, getting involved in a confrontation. Please keep in mind that we highly discourage dropping students off at the Mesa Shopping Center, as there is no supervision, and safety is always our number one concern. Once students are dropped off on campus, they are to remain on campus.
Just a reminder that although we do not start school to 9:45 a.m. on Wednesdays, our Library is open at 7:30 a.m. to students every day of the week. We also have the before school YMCA (fee based program) available as well, if you need to drop your student off before 9:45 a.m.
